🌿 Medicinal Plants—Culture, Food & Healing with Aunty Rosie

Join Aunty Rosie, a Gamilaraay Yinarr, cultural knowledge holder and founder of the Culturally Informed Practices Institute, for a gentle knowledge-sharing experience exploring our relationships with native plants, food and wellbeing.

Aunty Rosie will share some of the ways she works with plant medicine in her own cultural and healing practice, including Gumby Gumby and Eurah. She will yarn about the importance of understanding plants through relationships with Country, culture and knowledge carried through generations.

The workshop will also explore how plant medicine is not always separate from food. Aunty Rosie will share Gunalay native grain and yarn about the old practice of gathering, preparing and grinding native grains to make bread—knowledge that connects directly with her work through Dhuwarr—Bread from Country.

Participants will be invited to slow down, listen and experience this knowledge through native tea, yarning and the sounds of the didgeridoo. This workshop is not simply about learning what a plant can be used for—it is about remembering our relationships with plants, food and Country, and understanding how wellbeing has always been woven into culture.
