Buttons by Brooke

Buttons by Brooke Buttons by Brooke was born when my daughter needed hair accessories. I bought a DIY hair tie making kit from Ebay.

I make Fabric Covered Buttons that can decorate your hair, body and your home.
~ hair ties ~ hair clips ~ paper clip bookmarks ~ head bands
~ fridge magnets ~ jewellery ~ thumb tacks After completing my first hair tie set, I thought, that was easy, and started to make more. With school just around the corner, I was worried that multi-coloured hair clips would be against the school uniform polic

y. As a result, the first official β€œButtons by Brooke” were made from the hem of my daughters new school dress. Soon making hair ties and snap clips, grew into a small hobby which then developed into a business. I started selling handmade items at local markets in Alice Springs on weekends. Over time the product range grew with customer requests. Fast forward several years, and we left the Territory for my home state of Victoria. Buttons by Brooke now attends local markets in the Swan Hill and surrounding communities.

πŸ’— I don't care how old I get... I'll always stop for a rainbow. 🌈

Walking to the car after work, there it was. A reminder that sometimes the best things appear when you're not looking for them. 😊

Today's pink heart pendant felt like the perfect match.

A little colour. A little hope. And a reminder to keep looking up. πŸŒˆπŸ’—

πŸ’— 1 in 7 women. Let that sink in.

How many women are in your family or your friendship circle, who could face that diagnosis? Those women have crossed my circle, and that's why I choose to go PINK.

$1 from every PINK item sold this month will go towards my fundraising tally at the end of the month. You can also make your own tax deductible donation. πŸ’—

πŸŽ€ Today marks the beginning of my 2026 Go Pink campaign and of course the rain arrived for the first day of winter. 🌧

Throughout June I'll be sharing pink button creations alongside my daily pink fashion and makeup looks to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

What started years ago as a simple idea has become one of my favourite annual traditions.

Because sometimes a small thing can make a big difference.

Thank you for joining me for another month of creativity, colour and purpose.

πŸŽ€ Please donate if you can.

πŸ’— Winter has arrived, so to beat the winter blues, I'm going pink again. Follow along to make sure I make the 30 days. πŸ’—

😱 Slay May - Day 31 πŸ™Œ

I started this month wondering whether I'd have enough ideas for 31 days.

Instead, I discovered there was a story hiding in almost every day.

Not because anything extraordinary happened.

But because ordinary life is full of little moments worth noticing.

The washing.
The groceries.
The footy.
The fog.
The handmade projects.
The memories.

Sometimes all it takes is paying attention.

Thank you for joining me through another month of real life, one day at a time. 😊

This weeks blog started with a tax training and ended with a life lesson.

Not everything needs our attention today.

Some things need action now.
Some need planning for the future.
And some can simply wait until later.

As someone who likes to be organised (and usually ovethinks everything as well as runs late and loses things πŸ™„), this one hit home.

The new blog is live πŸ‘‡

🏈 The footy reels always seem to get the most views.

Maybe it's the sounds.
Maybe it's the atmosphere.
Maybe people just love local sport.

But today it reminded me of something else.

How lucky we are to get a front row seat to watch our kids learn, grow, improve and become themselves.

The games, the sidelines, the cold mornings and windy afternoons won't last forever.

So for now, I'm happy to sit and watch.

You know those little things that nobody else notices...
..but they make you feel better anyway?

Today's one of those days. A self-care moment to make you feel put together but also reminds you there's always a hair to be removed from somewhere! 🀣

This morning’s fog felt a little like driving through clouds.

Which honestly made me laugh because all I could think was:
β€œI told everyone on Sunday to stop making their showers so hot”. πŸ˜‚

But jokes aside… there’s something strangely beautiful about fog too.

Quiet roads.
Soft light.
Drive safe.
