Photographing dog leads is surprisingly difficult... so I figured I'd take these beauties for a wander through the bushland behind our property instead! 🌿📸

Many years ago, Merlin and I attended Nose Work classes with the wonderful Jen from The Dog Nose It in Kellyville. While the drive from Appin is a little too far for us these days, we still love incorporating scent games into our Sniff Zone and enrichment sessions at Oz Pup Culture.

🚨 Betty aka Betty White had a medical emergency this week

Tuesday was Betty's 7th Gotcha Day anniversary.
To celebrate, she decided to completely flatline in the garage.

No warning. No symptoms. Just drama.

I went to move her Tuesday night and got absolutely nothing. Not even a courtesy cough from the engine.

After a successful resuscitation involving jumper cables, Andrew's car, and a few choice words, Betty was pronounced alive.

Then Wednesday morning...
💀 Flatlined again.

At this point it was clear Betty wasn't looking for attention. She needed a battery transplant.

One trip to Supercheap Auto later, a shiny new battery was installed and the old girl roared back to life like nothing had happened.

Honestly, the timing wasn't terrible. I'd much rather Betty throw a tantrum in my garage than halfway to Queensland.

🥶 Winter blues got me like... 🥶

While some dogs are perfectly happy chillin in the cooler weather, others definitely appreciate a little extra help staying warm. Senior dogs, puppies, smaller breeds, short-coated dogs, and those with certain health conditions can all feel the cold more than their fluffy mates.

Whether it's a cosy jumper, a warm bed, extra blankets, heated mats, or simply more cuddle time on the couch, every dog has their own way of getting through winter. ❄️🐾

Every dog has a nose print that's completely unique — just like a human fingerprint! No two are exactly the same.

From wet snoots pressed against car windows to the muddy nose boops on your clean clothes, your dog's nose is one of a kind. ❤️

💧 Ever wondered how dogs actually drink water?

It looks like they simply dip their tongue in and lap it up… but it's much more fascinating than that! 🐶

A dog's tongue curls backwards underneath itself, forming a little scoop that pulls water upwards. They then snap their jaws shut before gravity has a chance to pull the water back down. The result? A surprisingly efficient (and often messy!) drinking technique. 😆💦

Next time your dog takes a drink, watch closely—you might just see their tongue performing this incredible little trick in slow motion.

Last night we had the pleasure of welcoming Kou, Eevee & Yuki to Oz Pup Culture 🐾💚

These three gorgeous pups had an absolute blast exploring the shop, sniffing their way through the Scent Garden & Sniff Zone, playing with Merlins ball & toys, sampling treats and making themselves right at home while their mum and dad enjoyed a relaxed browse through the store.

One of the things we love most about our by-appointment shopping experience is that dogs can truly shop at their own pace. There’s no crowds, no rush and no pressure — just plenty of opportunities to sniff, explore and enjoy themselves.

Did you know our shop is located on a fully fenced property? During your visit, your dog is welcome to sniff, explore and run around off leash while you take your time browsing our range of Australian treats, enrichment, toys and wellness products.

We think Kou, Eevee & Yuki would agree... shopping is much more fun when the dogs get to enjoy the experience too! 🐶✨

🚨 Temporary Closure Notice 🚨

If you've been meaning to place an order, now's the time! 🐾

From 11th June until 11th July 2026, both our Appin shop and website will be temporarily closed while we pack up (almost) the entire shop and head to Queensland for the 2026 Agility Nationals.

We're loading up the car with as much stock as humanly possible and taking Oz Pup Culture on the road. If you're attending Nationals, make sure you stop by and say hello!

When we return home in July, we'll be doing a much-needed restock of absolutely everything — treats, enrichment, toys, wellness products and more. There are already plenty of exciting products on the restock list, and we can't wait to share them with you.
