For so long, I have wanted to make my own thobe. And now I finally have (albeit, a baby thobe)!! My greatest pride and joy. 🐣

Introducing my Baby Thobe, made with the wonderful guidance and instruction from none other than Samia from Samia Ayyash سامية عيّاش 🇵🇸 👌

This project has taught me patience, and to honour the beauty of mistakes. Can't wait to make more!!

I am in awe! This belt is so special - it is my husband's great grandmother's belt from Yaffa. Credit to my mother in law for keeping it safe and so well preserved.

I trawled through my tatreez book collection to learn some more about this belt. It looks like this is called Zunnar Maqrouneh, a luxury belt of green, red and yellow silk with silver combs. It seems to match with the belt's ancestry from Jaffa.

Palestinian costume is all about the little details. 🧡
