I founded Lolo & May to change that.

The story behind the Desert Edit — and why it almost didn’t happen.

When I stood on the rocks at Bay of Fires in Tassie, I knew I had found the colour for our next collection. What I didn’t know was just how long and how challenging the journey to bring her to life was going to be.

From a colourway that was taken from me at the eleventh hour, to four rounds of samples before she was finally right — this collection tested me in ways I never expected.

But she’s almost here. And she’s more beautiful than anything I originally planned.

This is what a Lolo & May shoot day actually looks like.

We started the morning as near-strangers — a small crew, two gorgeous models, and a beautiful coastline. By the end of the day, we all said the same thing — just how much we enjoyed each other’s company. New friendships were formed.

This was shot after Easter, when the water was already getting cold. Those laughters? Well, that’s the moment between takes when the waves hit.

No posing or pretence. Just good light, great energy, and a crew that said the same thing as we packed up the day — best shoot day.
