In 2019 I had a request from a nanny to make a matching pair of Kakahu for her moko who would be turning 21. Recently I had a request to do the same for her next moko turning 21.
At the time I told her that I had moved to Sydney and stopped making Kakahu, but because I had made the first two I agreed to make the next. She then said she had another moko turning 21 in 2025 so could I make them both. I agreed and absolutely enjoyed the whole process. Subtle differences is in the colour of the Taniko band. I’d forgotten how much I enjoy making kakahu hence why I’m posting my recent creations.
I’ve decided to start making them again so like and follow to help me spread the word.

I was recently asked if I could make a Korowai for a little guy whose mama was tragically killed last Christmas. He’s been struggling with missing her and was graduating from Kindy. This Korowai carry’s his mama in the turquoise so when worn she is wrapped around him. He loved it. I was given permission from his aunty to post a couple of pics she shared with me
