Today I choose to start my day by being grateful. Grateful that I have woken up to another beautiful day, I have been given the gift of life, and I choose to live every day fulfilling my purpose.
5 weeks ago I met with to have another website meeting.
She took one look at me and was like “whooahhhh girl, I can feel your stressful energy from here. There’s This book that I think would be helpful for you to read”
The book- The Miracle Morning, by Hal Elrod.
Before I let everyone know about how much this book has changed me, the day I arrived at Amy’s house I had just found out that I have alopecia again. And that is, bald chunks all over my scalp where hair used to reside. (What a treat)
The cause- stress.
Yet the funny thing is, I don’t feel stressed. And that’s what happens when you have normalised the feeling of stress for so many years. If someone was to step into my body, they would freak out, but to me, it’s just another day in paradise. (Yahoo) Yet my body is saying- Heather I can’t take it any more, I’m gonna make some hair fall out for you to realise you need to make some changes around here.
The book is all about setting up a healthy morning routine, (setting aside time for your own personal development) so that You are equipped for what ever the day throws at you. It’s all about a healthy mindset.
I don’t relate to any motivational YouTube videos that I watch talking about procrastination and just doing it… I am the complete opposite. So they have never been helpful to me. When people tell me to rest or read a book sis. Bish, who has time for that.
But… after reading this book (well actually I listen to the audio during my morning walks) I have finally realised the importance of it, setting aside time each day for your own personal development, I have just been gung Ho 500 miles an hour focused on work.
I know all of our routines have been thrown off with what is going on right now, we can’t control that. What we can control however is what we choose to do with this time, our mindset, setting up new healthy routines for ourselves and committing to the work we need to do to reach our goals.
It’s 5 stars for me, give it a read if you have time or down load the audio from YouTube ###
