I recently ducked out of the studio to share my journey with the Textiles students at , alongside fellow alumna .
It is always a privilege to speak with young creatives. I vividly remember being in their position… passionate about art and garment making, yet uncertain about what the future might hold. At that age, I was deeply inspired by hearing the stories and experiences of people working in the industry, so it was incredibly meaningful to have the opportunity to do the same for the next generation.
What stood out most was the students’ attentiveness, enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. These qualities will serve them well, whether their path leads into the fashion and textiles industry or somewhere entirely different.
A heartfelt thank you to the students and staff for their warm welcome and for inviting us to experience the lunchtime runway show. Initiatives like these provide invaluable opportunities for students to showcase their work, build confidence and inspire younger students to engage with the subject.
It was wonderful to be surrounded by so much creativity, craftsmanship and positive energy.
