Finding time to get my nails done is where I draw the line.

I know Iā€™m talking about feeling sexy and desired here.

But really, thatā€™s just the doorway into a much bigger conversation.

Because the invisibility women can feel in midlife goes far beyond whether someone looks at us when we walk into a room.

It can be about work. Relationships. Motherhood. Ageing. Identity. Our changing bodies. Our place in the world. What happens next.

Iā€™ve been having conversations with women lately that have really made me think about this.

There are so many ways a woman can start to feel less seen at this stage of her life - at exactly the time when I think being seen might matter more than ever.

So yes. Iā€™ll talk about wanting to feel desired.

But I think what weā€™re really talking about is wanting to know that we still matter.

And thatā€™s a conversation I want to keep having.
