Part 3 of our interview with super talented rapper & producer

How long does it usually take you to write your songs?

I tend to write my songs within like an hour or so but i always end up coming back to it and fixing up things i think can sound better or be done better than they already were

Where are you from? Have your surroundings shaped you in a creative sense, and in what way(s)?

I was born in south africa and flew to Australia in 2015 and then picked up music as hobby and since then its just been me and music. Being from the northern beaches i would say definitely cause not a lot of artists my way make the type of music i make cause its all indie artists and what not and starting off in that genre moving into making hiphop make me look at the music i make in a broader perspective and try to incorporate that style where i can

Where do you find your artistic inspiration?

I find a lot of my music inspiration from my people when i see my ni**as working and grinding hard it pushes me to want to do my best and constantly grow, i also let my feelings inspire me in what i do best so i always put what im feeling in my music

Who’s your fashion icon and why?
A$AP Rocky would be my top fashion icon i look up to because rocky is just cool man 😂 just can’t hate him

What advice would you give to young musicians coming into the music industry?

as someone who isn’t properly in the industry myself, only advice ild give is that if you want it bad enough you will prioritise ur art and grind over anything and everything because this job doesn’t have a set outcome cause you may be successful but also not be successful for a while

How would you describe your musical style?
I would say the music i make is catered to a number of little sub-genres in hiphop and rap, Because i can make a different sounding song every time i make a track depending on the mood i am when writing the music.

What is the first album you ever owned? How did you acquire it?

I have never owned an album before but in the aspect of the first ever whole album i ever listened to was beer bongs n bentleys by post malone and i got it through spotify

Part two of our Sounds Sounds interview with

Any advice for women wanting to get into drumming?
- I would say just go for it! Don’t be afraid to try something new, it’ll be difficult at first but you just have to keep trying and soon enough you’ll be crushing it. There’s such a supportive community within female drummers as there aren’t many of us, so just send us a message and we’ll gladly help you out!

Pre show rituals?
- I wouldn’t say I have a pre show ritual as such, most of the time the band just sits around and banters over a drink or two.

Has social media had a large impact?
- At this point I don’t think it has. Most of the opportunities I’ve gotten have been through meeting people in the community and getting to know them. I love it as a platform to share stuff that I’m really proud of and it’s a great way to connect with drummers from around the world.

Where do I practice?
- Luckily for me I have very tolerant neighbours who don’t mind me practicing at home, but I also spend time practicing at university.
