A Finished Garment

The feeling of accomplishment when finishing a garment is truly a satisfying feeling indeed. For those that have been seen my IG reel over the last week will have seen the final asymmetrical pleather skirt I have been working over the last couple of months.

For anyone that has been following along, I have been making my calico mock-up of my skirt over the past 10 weeks during my dressmaking classes at Couture Arts Fashion Academy

This week I started cutting into my pleather to start constructing the final garment. This is a sneak peak into this process of cutting with a rotary blade and glueing down of my side hem sections in the skirt itself.

Yesterday I started sewing on an industrial machine which was a lot of fun but I think I'll keep that footage as a surprise for the final product reel. Next week we have a term break and then back in for term two so stay tuned. There may be some extra sneak peaks to follow!
