FOOTAGE: WAY BACK WHEN
Before the shelves held sauces, teas, incense, and tailoring — they were lined with Jordans, Dunks, AM90s, and rare one-offs.
We didn’t plan to start a store. We just kept chasing the next pair. From Sydney to Tokyo, Singapore to LA, it was all trade, hustle, and instinct. No social media. No bots. Just a network, a Nokia, and the right timing.
Before Footage opened, if you knew Phil’s number, you knew where to get hooked up - in a stairwell, a laneway, or straight from a duffle.
Darlinghurst, 2003. Footage wasn’t just a shop. It was a signal flare. People flew in. Kids skipped school. Collectors came to trade. Brands came to see how we did it.
We didn’t follow trends — we set pace. Archive drops. Sneaker tours. Cult press.
Before the hype. Before the clout. It was just care and culture.
These were the years that taught us pace, patience, and that real heads don’t need explaining. Before the general supplies, there were just kicks and crazy amounts of passion.
22 years on, and the goods may have shifted but the soul hasn’t.
Thanks for walking the long road with us.
