Hey everyone, it's been a while 👋🏻 hope you all have been well!
My last sewing project was a costume for a school disco. The theme was fluoro/neon colours and since there weren't many boys who dressed up in costumes, he naturally got the best dressed prize for the night 😁🏆

Well well, I can see a pattern here. The period between Christmas and New Year is really the only time I can focus on tackling a slightly more complicated sewing pattern! It's actually been like that for the past 3 years I noticed 😅
During this Christmas break, I managed to finish yet another knit top. It was supposed to be an easy one to sew but the process of creating the twist seriously tied my brain 🧠 into a knot!! 😫
In desperation, I went on the Net searching for a tutorial. I came across several blogs when it suddenly dawned on me that I was supposed to stitch ONE bust seam, make the twist and then stitch the other one. No wonder I couldn't get it to work - I stitched both seams before making the twist!!! 😂😂

After more than 3 months in lockdown 🔒😖, face to face schooling will resume in NSW starting next week 💃🏻🥳
The boy has outgrown his 3-6 yo facemasks so today I made him a mix of plain and fun masks to wear. Hope he can keep them on at school 😅

I had intended to make a costume for today's Fairy Tale Day when they announced it months ago so I bought all of the materials and got the pattern pieces ready but I only had the chance to start sewing on the weekend! 😯
Luckily I could finish this outfit just in time (well, last night 😖).

Work has been really busy, so I haven't made anything in 3 months 😮😅
I started making this top at night when the boy is asleep. It went really well until I realised that I finished the armholes before I attach the sleeves 🤭
It turned out that I had been reading the instructions for the other pattern in the packet 😴🤪🙈
Anyway, luckily I could fix it at the end and got this top done in time for Easter. I am not sure if this style suits me (read: do I look fat in this? 🙈) but I'm happy to add another me-made piece in my collection.

Here is another knit top! (I'm getting the hang on twin needle sewing and loving it ♥️).
Since the fabric is quite plain, I thought I'd jazz it up by adding a wrap tie (if that's what it's called) towards the hem.
I self drafted the 'tie' using one of my dresses as a guide.

Finishing the bias at the V part on the back was hard!! I probably should have spent a bit more time reading the instruction properly to get it right but I was just too impatient 😅

I hadn't prepared any Christmas 🎄 presents for his preschool classmates, and even more so since his teacher said that they were not encouraged.
However... since he received quite a number of cards, 🍫 and 🍭, I thought we'd better give his friends a present 🎁 too! It's been tough for them this year since they missed out on a lot of things such as excursions and graduation so I thought I'd prepare something that hopefully would cheer them up a bit.
Upon visiting the shops he decided on 🌈 lollies 🤣

I've retired this pair of jeans👖for a few years and I can barely fit in them now 😆 However, I'd thought about adding red bows 🎀 for sometime and I finally decided to give it a go!
The result... is kinda cute but I'm not sure if adding bulk to the narrowest part of the leg is a good idea! What do you reckon? Good enough for hanging out at the local mall 🏬🛍️? 🙈
