If only it were that quick to make dresses, but no... 🫠🫠
I am currently making a toile for a mother of the groom's dress that will take place in October. I am already super excited. I fell in love ❤️ with the chosen colour fabric, and I will be adding an ✨ embroidery detail ✨ somewhere—it's my favourite part and Cluny's signature.
A dress like this will take several weeks to be finished, and although I am excited about the result, I am patient and respectful of the time required for each artisanal process🪡🧵✨
Working from my home-studio, at my own pace, allows me to truly connect with what I love the most: *crafting hand-made garments* 💘

Today I went to Wall Fabrics in the hunt for some summer vibe fabrics.
Hidden in a quiet block, somewhere in Sydney, this place has everything I love regarding patterns and textures for Cluny.
But the best thing about this place, is that it is a warehouse for unused fabrics from high-end designers. A way to give them a second chance to shine 💫
And as they are deadstock fabrics, only limited and unique pieces can be made from them. One-of-a-kind pieces that cannot be repeated once the fabric is sold out.
I came back home inspired with some new sampling fabrics to produce some designs in the next couple of weeks. I will sew them from my little studio in the Northern Beaches, with my overlocker and sewing machine.
I am really looking forward to connecting again with the designing process and finishing the year doing what I love the most.
Ps: I love stripes

~ little treasures I cherish ~
I love collecting vintage objects. Things with a story that I have once inherited from beloved relatives and now I treasure. I have a collection of antique buttons and belt buckles that I had to split and keep in small different containers, as all together, weigh kilos and kilos.
Those objects bring me back to when I was young and used to go to a small haberdashery in my hometown. I could spend a couple of minutes behind the counter while checking the sample buttons glued in the front of the wooden drawers. The lady, owner of that shop, used to roll her eyes a couple of times during my hesitation.
They also remind me of antique fairs I frequented with my mum where I felt entranced looking at the display tables adorned with jewellery, trimmings, clothing accessories, etc.
What do these objects remind you of?

1 - mixed metallic buttons and belt buckles.
2 - brocade lace bought on a trip to Asia
3- original Harris Tweed fabric + authenticity labels. This fabric has more than 20 years but remains untouched because of its extraordinary quality.
4- vintage thread cones
5- lined buttons

I have been working a lot this year to genuinely communicate what Cluny is about. From the inspiration, motivation and ethos, to showing how garments are made, how many processes and hands are involved. And I am happy I have found the right place to share the ins and outs of “Cluny” with you ❤️
Stay tuned!

Come in & say hi 😍👋🏻
I have been working a lot to find a place where to show my garments and give people the opportunity to touch the fabrics, feel them, see the embroidery in detail and offer a different experience outside the website.
And I am happy to announce our pieces will be available at Ruth Tate store, a beautiful studio-boutique store where you can find timeless, classic, ethically and australia made pieces.
Ruth, the owner, is a fashion designer and you can see her creating in the store. This is what I loved about this place, you have the possibility to see how garments are being made and conceived 😍
Thanks Ruth for the opportunity. I am happy Cluny’s voice and message are now part of your store.
If you are around 168 King Street, Newtown, come in and say hi!
❤️

When I went to Argentina early this year, I stayed at my parent's house and I got super curious about how my home looked during my absence, If it had changed or had acquired new things. By the time I got there, I had been living abroad for at least 2 years and a bit more. And by that time, I had already forgotten about where all the things were.
The first morning I woke up at home, I instinctively opened all the drawers and cabinets I found on my way. Most of them had changed, there were new stuff on them, and I wasn't able to find many of the things I wanted. But there was one old cabinet that remained untouched, as if time had never happened. It was the cabinet that kept my mum's side family photos. When I was a child, It was forbidden for me to play with it, and my mum used to get very angry with me when she found me messing up the photos that were in perfect chronological order.
That day I wanted to connect with those who were part of my origins and I spent the whole morning looking at my great grandfather photos. He was a metallurgic business owner and responsible for most of the old streetlights that are still in the city.
When I was doing my final walk around the city, just days before my return flight to Australia, I wondered through those streets thinking about when I would return again.

Do you know our story? And how our pieces are conceived?
“Cluny The Label” is a slow fashion brand I created a couple of years ago in my home country when I was feeling in need of sharing my own story through my creations. This project may be the most representative and genuine form of me as a professional and as a whole”
Cluny is not a fashion product… is a way to tell a story.
If you like our products & the work involved
on every item, I invite you to read our story
and what's behind.
