I am the biggest Grease fan, always have been and always will be. I know every word to that movie and the way my sisters and I used to dance around to the songs as kids fills me with a level of nostalgia that’s hard to explain!

So when called me last week following in the footsteps of John Travolta and road testing a beret for a day, of course I jumped at the chance to cap his head!!

A brilliant article that captures the plight of hat wearing so perfectly, with his final paragraphs proving that a hat is just a hat, until it makes you feel something. And that, my friends, is my WHY!!

It’s been a minute since I had my work in the but loved seeing on the cover last week wearing one of my brimmed straw hats which also featured in this huge double page article inside the paper.

I’m also happy to be that “amazing milliner” that she found, thanks to , and was able to bring her vision of FC to life 🫶…and yes I was named, but this is the final edited article and I’m good with that 🥰🥰

Both of my pieces for The Innovators: were featured in this incredible article on all four designers and their considered approach to design.






As an alumni who had my opportunity at AFW in 2005, and now as an educator, it is beyond rewarding to see these designers take that stage with the professionalism and zest that they showed last week. The coordination behind the scenes to put this show on is bigger than it appears from the audience, but working with a dream team makes it all worth it when you see their work valued in this way.

Last week I also had the privilege to collaborate with on this headpiece for

Luke had this drum skin to style with this Minotaur look for his AFW debut and I had the pleasure of transforming it into a headpiece. Luke’s design talent was nurtured at by my incredible colleagues .washington1 and over the three years of his degree, so I loved playing this small part in his story as he brought his concept to life and showcased his artistry with such authenticity.

I am so grateful to have a job that allows me to be surrounded by this sort of creativity everyday, working with industry specialists to help these incredibly talented designers realise their dreams. Beyond proud of what they all achieved last week!

Last week was huge! So many great moments, one of which was seeing one of my hats styled with the incredible collection of one of my students as he debuted his collection on the runway as part of the The Innovators:

It is such a privilege to work with the unbridled creativity of emerging designers everyday, alongside an incredible team of industry specialists educating the future of the Australian Fashion industry.

I had the pleasure of teaching Oliver in second and third year and the dedication to his craft, attention to detail and storytelling made last week an even prouder moment. Seeing the joy in his achievement was an infectious moment for everyone in that room. 🤍
