this month has been {one word}...interesting
highlights...
🥾 took the kids away for a few nights during the school holidays to the coast - knew it would be a lot doing it solo (and it was in a lot of ways) but really glad we went! Lots of board games and some hiking with family ❤️
🌮 had a few (just me) nights away for work and indulged in Taco Tuesday, a walk along the river with a friend (and other regular things like catching up on things that aren't easy to achieve during the term)
🏅Miss 8 has been selected from her school for a very special award later in the year - super proud (I cried in the tax office foyer while I read the email)
🎨 heard back regarding a collab for our next yearly notecards cover (can't wait to update you all)
🖍️ loved seeing Miss 3 and the joy as she wrote her name for the first time 💖
🐊 went to Mr 6's friends' birthday that included a cool Reptile show - he held Tarzan the snake and we both held Crunchy the salt-water croc
🧩 a 1000 piece Sydney puzzle bought from an op-shop was purchased bringing us together but actually helped me get me out of my own head during weeks of unknown outcomes
🎴 card game 'Phase 10' (heavily played in earlier seasons of my life) has started up again with Miss 8 ❤️
This month I have learnt - (A LOT) frogs swallow via their eyes, tawny frog mouths open their bright yellow mouth to attract food at night, blue tongues and snakes smell with their tongues - assuming the reptile guy told the truth AND I've noted correctly!
I also learnt that a 3yo missing for 5minutes in an op-shop was a pretty awful...turns out she was hiding under a rack of long clothes because I said no to a toy :-/
What did you learn during July? Comment below....
