We had lots of enquiries about when the next Holiday Sewing Club is, so we're excited to announce it's returning THIS holidays and we can't wait.🧵✨

Four fun-filled afternoons of sewing and creativity for children and teens aged 8–17, whether they're total beginners or already love to sew!

✂️ Tip Tuesday 🧵 One thing that trips up a lot of beginner sewists? Cutting fabric with the wrong scissors.

Sewing scissors are designed specifically for fabric; they're sharp all the way to the tip so they can cut through material. Using regular scissors will drag and distort your fabric, which makes sewing accurately so much harder.

Golden rule: one pair of scissors for fabric only. Keep them away from paper and they’ll stay sharp for years. ✂️✨

Our student made this beautiful top in class, and the printed fabric has a special story. ✨

The printed fabric was made by her uncle’s fabric factory in Nepal, making it a truly meaningful piece from the very beginning.

The sewing pattern was a great Etsy find that brought the design to life and we love seeing how fabric, pattern, and creativity come together to create something completely personal.

Week 3 of our Foundations Sewing Course was all about putting new skills into practice! ✂️💻

Our students each completed their own custom laptop case, learning how to work with layers, quilt fabric and create a practical project they can use every day.

It’s always exciting to see confidence grow from week to week, and these finished laptop cases are something to be proud of.
