Hi everyone,
Just a quick update post as I have been a bit slower than usual to reply to general enquiries, and as Christmas enquiries have started (already!) I thought this would be easiest. (Sorry it is quite long!)
The past few months have been very full on here and I have struggled with time and energy to update this page. Our families have celebrated 8 wonderful birthdays including Paigeβs first birthday, Harperβs third birthday and my beautiful Grandmaβs who passed away in February.
Heartbreakingly just over a month ago I also said goodbye to my dear cat Pickle. He was such a big character in our house, a giant white fluff ball who adored Paige and their special daily cuddles! Not seeing him every day after nearly 12 years is still a big struggle. Pickle would always follow me into my sewing room at night and find a spot close by while I created, so I haven't really wanted to be in there without him if I'm honest.
I returned to casual work in July (for those who donβt know me, I am a primary school teacher) which has been good but also limited my time and energy to continue creating at night. As my husband works away every second week, after looking after Harper and Paige and daily life plus a few days of work, by the time night comes I have very little energy to sew, and as my name suggests I only ever sew while my girls sleep β my time with them is too precious!
Over the past month I also have had the unfortunate experience of a gallbladder attack and obstructed gallstone. This unfortunately went undiagnosed for a while before I ended up presenting to the local hospital and it began to resolve. A blood test also showed that my Iron and B12 were critically low again (this has happened before but was diagnosed a lot earlier). As a result I experience extreme fatigue, migraine type symptoms, tension headaches, blurred eyesight and loss of sensation/pins and needles in my fingers and toes. This has also explained my lack of energy for sewing.
So itβs fair to say that life has been pretty full on here, and sewing has taken a huge backseat, unfortunately along with my mental health.
The main point - I wonβt be taking on any orders until my health resolves which will hopefully be by next month and I will not be doing a big Christmas round like I usually do. I will open a few spots in late October/November for my regular customers and go from there.
To end on a more positive note, things are all starting to look up and here is a beautiful memory captured by the beautiful Rochelle at Delicate Dreams Photography of my girlβs birthdays this year β€οΈ
