What if you haven’t found your dress because you haven’t been given the chance to? 👀
I’ve seen this a lot - brides trying on dress after dress, only for someone in the room to immediately say:
“NO!”
“I don’t like that…”
“That’s definitely not the one”
“I liked the last one better”
And sometimes it’s not even what’s being said, it’s the stone-cold silence, the face, the side-eye to someone else in the room. It can be BRUTAL.
And the thing is, when you hear and see enough of those reactions, it becomes REALLY hard to hear your own. It’s also really disheartening and can wreak havoc on a girls confidence!
So if you’re bringing your favourite people dress shopping with you, my biggest piece of advice is simple:
Let the bride speak first and ask her what she thinks before telling her what you think.
Because ultimately, the most important reaction in the room is the bride’s 🩶
(And yes, I have really heard those things said to a bride before!)
