Happy Father’s Day ! I’m going to surprise and possibly upset my daughter with a bow tie this morning. People say “it’s so hard to buy for men” - I’m giving you three products for less than 20 bucks that I recommend and he will love them. Also - as Henry Ford once said or didn’t say according to 🤖 - if I did what my customers told me they wanted I’d be making faster horses 🐎. Small businesses have limited resources so you have to apply yourself where you can and not all your endeavours bear great fruit. Talk soon.

There could be only one winner 🏆 and that has gone to who will win 1000 dollars and her scarf realised. I know it’s a second Australian theme and I did not wish to be biased but I felt as a scarf and with the colours it will come out beautifully but really they were all wonderful submissions so I am going to send 5 runners up a double printed silk scarf and scarf ring for their wonderful contributions. Specifically Deborah Kelly who came in about one hour before submissions closed with her striking female figure. Talha for his very personal Kashmiri scarf design, Yin Lu from Brisbane what a great work that was. Shelley Black for setting the bar high and Nicholas Rutten from Adelaide. I will also contact a few more of you to send you something from us. Again - so happy with all of the submissions and let’s do it again soon.

Welcome to Spring ! I had an early morning swim, very fresh on Bondi and plenty of kayakers so the sharks 🦈 had plenty to choose from… listen 👂 final day of submissions for the design a silk scarf competition closing off at midnight! What talent is out there ! So humbling for myself I can assure you. Maybe like W***y Wonka I’ll hand it over to one of you one day after I put you through a series of tests. And I then I can go back to being an Oompa Loompa. New products will be added shortly the website is closed but my phone is on.

Closing submissions ! And here comes Bronte brontegoodieson with Sydney Harbour …

This work was inspired by Sydney Harbour on one of those brilliant blue-sky days, framed by florals of the nearby Botanic Gardens.If I were to paint a love letter to Sydney, this would be it.I wanted to capture the energy of the harbour by bringing both the Harbour Bridge and Opera House into a single composition, scattering tiny figures throughout the landscape to create a sense of scale and life.Throughout the work, I played with pastel colour combinations, layered textures and detailed patterns across the boats Ferrys, buildings and surrounding landscape. In contrast, I painted the harbour in a flat, highly pigmented matte blue, allowing the water to become a bold expanse of colour that holds the busier elements of the composition together.

Hi Nicholas,

Here is ‘highland times’ in which I explored some of the beauty I witnessed travelling through the southern highlands of NSW.

Some things were beautiful and so captivating but there were some moments and things of beauty which can also be very problematic to the environment - pest animals etc
