Left last night at 5.30pm with 6 garments on the alteration to do rack. Arrive in at 8.15am with an additional 19 garments and another 11 just added now.

A new decade of Melbourne Fashion Festival. First year with the new Juki DX7, after 22 years with my dear old Bernina 1010. Taking a bit of getting used to, but I like the new bells and whistles.

I love my local theatre company and the opportunity I have to perform and make some fun costumes for our cast. This weekend we performed a pantomime at the of Peter Pan and the Lost Fairy Dust. This was the Tinkerbell costume, complete with my first attempt at fairy wings, an upcycled Mr K dress and I decorated shoes with jingle bells, butterflies leaves and flower. 🧚‍♀️

I forgot to post the obligatory set up at MFW yesterday.
This was before i had done any sewing, so my done rack was empty and my desk didn’t look like Hammy has been hanging out there.

It has been an absolute pleasure to work alongside the students, staff and a couple of parents at Oxley Christian College, to realise the costumes for Frozen JR last week.
So satisfying to workshop the Elsa magical quick change & see it succeed.

It was such a pleasure to collaborate on this for an awesome Aussie brand.

Last week we went to a black tie wedding. I changed the idea for my outfit midweek and added 2 flounces to my cherry red silk 1930’s dress that I made in 2018 for our 5th anniversary. I accessorised with a beaded rhinestone belt that I started making many years ago. But I had nothing to put in my hair. So armed with vintage Czech faceted flat back glass, & beads and rhinestones left over from my belt, I started this in the 95min car trip to the ceremony.
