Rode outside today 😲 and found my Brooklyn Project jersey which has been hidden for three years.

The last time I wore this jersey I won the sprint finish for A and B grade on the Paraparap circuit. (Note I was fit back then 🚫🍫) Slight uphill finish, spun it up from 500m out and held on. 👌

The Barwon Butcher.

It would be a cool story to say this jersey was inspired by an urban legend. A crit racer nicknamed The Barwon Butcher. A sprinter known for ripping the legs off his opponent’s down at the Belmont crit track.

Instead the design is based on a humble butchers apron and cleavers.

The annual pilgrimage on the rail trail. Chilly start at -2, followed by a sunny return trip.

Wangaratta to Bright return 171km 640m gain, 6hrs 38mins. Consumed a pie, two donuts, a bag of chips, 2 cliff bars and 3 gels.

After 10,000km’s I can confirm the Caad12 was a bargain.

Last year I set out to buy a bike that could do it all. I can’t afford multiple bikes! I wanted it to be cheaper than what I was riding, newer and more capable.

The end result is a bike that can race a tight high speed crit, climb a hilly handicap, roll for 7 hours on a rail trail, handle gravel with ease and bunny hop curbs. The same setup for everything!
