There is no denying it!! The most loved colour through out our range is Green 🌿💚

I can almost feel our weavers cringe when I say this, as most of these beautiful shades of natural botanical greens, involve a long process and at times difficult to achieve the desired colour.
Leaves from the Mango Trees are sometimes used to create golden lemons and olive greens. But usually the process of first dyeing the cotton strands with Indigo (sometimes at least 5 processes to achieve the desired shade of blue) and then the dry cotton is submerged again into a yellow dye bath, created from Marigold Flowers.

There are no guarantees of achieving the same colour shade each time.. this is the natural beauty of Botanical Dyes.

This was taken 9 years ago when I was in Laos, showing a much younger version of me.
Keo (in green top) had taken me to this stunning location to visit this beautiful woman and master weaver. I regret not remembering her name, but I remember every detail of our visit.
Her home was situated on the banks of a pristine river, where fresh fish was caught and organic grown vegetables were prepared for our lunch, in true Laotian style.

Seeing beautiful textiles around her home,
which were woven for everyday use, and now being bought into our homes in Australia, made us all smile with pride.

Once a month I try to make the time to give my skin some extra love with a home made face mask. Today my blend is avocado, honey and oatmeal and it feels so good and nurturing on my skin.

Rinsing off with warm water and my beautiful hand-loomed and botanically dyed Face Washer, is the perfect way to complement my natural skincare facial.

I find this very simple ritual of nourishing myself with what I have on hand, making myself just sit and slow down, very rewarding, and hopefully my skin is also happy 😁

A walk through here of a Weaving Centre in Ban Nayang, Northern Laos, which I visited last year when we travelled to this village to meet with our weavers.
There are various places through out Laos where you can visit or homestay and immerse yourself in the world of Lao Textiles. Learn about the entire cotton weaving processes, the traditional skills of spinning the cotton, weaving and natural dyeing. Soak up the Lao culture and village life. And no doubt you will have the opportunity to share a humble lunch, which is always a wonderful experience.
