I haven’t really made an Autumn Winter piece yet but you can guarantee that after my day yesterday you will be seeing lots more feathers and felt.

I’m starting with a piece for myself and have spent the morning putting in orders for feathers and bases to get some designs on the shelf.

Thank you Jo 4 Eva Keepsakes for the two most gorgeous hat stands.
I love the story attached to the Brown one, bought from a Property in Maryborough QLD, I can only imagine the beautiful hats that were made and displayed on this piece
They are a wonderful addition to my little studio

Well the studio has been somewhat unpacked, and I’m looking forward to getting back into the Hat Academy courses and keep refining my skills.

Hopefully 2026 will be full of new creations and you can be sure there will be plenty of crinoline swirls 😆

My beautiful niece entrusted me with making her Cathedral Veil for her wedding yesterday
It was and will always be the single most important piece I will ever make.
A simple 3 meter silk tulle with a row of pearls on the comb.
I haven’t done any millinery of late, life takes different paths but hopefully soon I can get back my vibe and create more beauties like this piece

Millinery hasn’t been on my radar for almost 12 months
A lot has been happening personally and I feel like I lost my passion. It was disheartening when your styles don’t sell and when you make a custom piece for a client you don’t get feedback.

However I am working on something that is so special. I am making a cathedral veil for my beautiful niece for her August wedding.
This would be the most important piece I will ever work on and the pressure I feel is overwhelming.
I am practicing and practicing so that I get this just right.
