A study commissioned by APCO last year found that only 8% of polypropylene (PP5) packaging on the market was being recovered for recycling (~12,000 from 164,000 tonnes). This is despite polypropylene being relatively easy to mould and work with. From a recyclability perspective, polypropylene has pretty much an infinite lifecycle. Here at Nettco, we have been hard at work researching and developing products using 100% recycled PP. We have successfully been able to produce a trimmer line that is comparable to big name manufacturers. Using this technique further, we are able to produce a monofilament with the recycled pp, that can then be warp knitted into barrier mesh and Geotextiles! With this technology, Australia can breathe easier knowing that plastics will not end up in landfill or the ocean
