You may have noticed that I have been very quiet on socials lately.
I am sorry for that as things have been really tough. I have needed all that energy to stay in survival mode as I've been falling apart at the seams.
If I show up, I want to show up authentically, not just because that's what social media requires of me.
I was listening to an audiobook about boundaries + self worth by Dr Rebecca Ray. And something she said really struck home.
People always tell us to find balance. Work-life... But that would mean that we weigh both of those equally which is not the case. Life, love + family are so much more important than work. Instead we should find work-life rhythm.
There is so much truth in that. And even though finding that rhythm seems impossible most days it is something that I try to keep at the forefront of my mind. Life will always ebb and flow, challenges will arise, things will run smoothly. There will be slow times, busy times, hectic times, happy times, emotional times, angry times, sad times, times of just feeling defeated.
Maybe the key is to find your rhythm and how work + life fits in with you; monthly, weekly, daily.
Life will always change so we need to change with it and stop holding this idea of "balance" so highly as I don't believe it's that simple. Maybe it's a matter of being present and adapting in your ever day life to what comes, to allow these challenges to pass through you, not react but respond.
Easier said than done. A work in progress for me. But maybe this will resonate with someone else too.
