Yarns

The types of jute yarn manufactured can be classified according to the application/use to which they are put i.e. fine yarns, hessian yarns, carpet/special yarns, sacking yarns, etc. These yarns can be further classified into warp and weft yarns, the warp yarns normally being superior to the weft yarns as they have to withstand the cycles of stress during weaving while the weft yarns act more as filler and undergo less strain during weaving process.

Twines, Ropes, Cordage etc.

Twines, ropes, cordages etc. are used for the purpose of tying, knotting, binding etc. particularly agricultural commodities. Jute yarns of various dimensions are plied together to make twines as per requirement and use.

Fabrics

Hessian, Sacking, Scrim, Carpet Backing Cloth (CBC) and Canvas are the most commonly used fabrics of jute.

Carpet Backing Cloth

Carpet backing cloth (CBC) is a kind of balanced fabric, weighing between 180 - 407 g/m2 used as a base for making carpets. They are made of uniform yarns of a particular grist. Normally CBC are classified into the following two categories for being used in tufted carpet industry:

a) Carpet backing (primary) -The base fabric on which pile yarns are tufted and
anchored to make a carpet.

b) Carpet backing (secondary) - Fabric bonded on the backside of the carpet
forming an underlay.

Sacking

A range of heavy jute fabrics either in plain or twill weaves manufactured by using coarse jute fibre in larger percentage than used for manufacturing tarpaulin, hessian or such light fabrics. Sacking refers to the coarser and heavier cloth, used primarily for sacks for packing materials that do not need special protection, but has higher weight.

Jute bagging material is in demand because of the openness of the weave, which allows air to circulate while protecting the contents.

The difference between hessian and sacking is in the quality of the cloth and the jute used for its production, the difference being primarily one of fineness, the former being made of finer grade jute, the latter of coarser qualities. Hessian can be available in cloth lengths, while the mills usually convert sacking cloth into bags and sacks.

Twill The weave that produces diagonal patterns on the surface of the cloth. In the Jute industry, generally 2 x 1 simple twill weave is used.

Brattice Cloth Hessian fabrics, which after rot and fireproofing is used in mines as windscreens and for ventilation purposes.

Hessian

Single warp plain weave jute fabrics, manufactured in varying weights and widths, weighing up to 500 g/m2 are commonly known as hessian.

Hessian fabrics are lighter than sacking fabrics. Hessian is used for bags and many other coarse fabric uses, such as wrappers, wall coverings, etc. Presently, shopping bags are being made out of hessian fabrics. It is also used in the upholstery and home furniture.

Sample Policies
Sample Policies are supplying promotional Jute Bags & Jute Handicrafts, we receive much more sample requests than other businesses. We understand that a sample helps the decision making process, therefore we are happy to make and send samples. While we exempt sample fees in most cases, we cannot let slip the courier fees. To streamline and standardize the process, we outline our product sample policy below.

Pre-existing samples

A pre-existing sample can be a piece of sample material, a fabric color swatch, or a product picked up from our exhibition room or website gallery. Pre-existing samples do not incur origination, and all samples are charged for at their unit price. They will be sent out using our courier service DHL/FEDEX/UPS/EMS at a delivery charge of $50.00.

Pre-production samples

A pre-production sample can be a product prototype make to your design, or a matching sample emblazoned/branded with your artwork before mass production. When origination is incurred, we have to charge you $150(USD). We will reimburse you for the origination when you finalize an order over a certain amount.

Production samples

A production sample is a quality assurance sample randomly picked during or after production. You can come in person or we are happy to conduct a random sampling for you on site or at forwarders’ warehouse. Again production samples are free of charge.

Samples are free, but you are responsible for courier fees

If you require any of these samples being sent to you, please allow us to use your courier account. Or you can pay $50 (USD) for our courier service for a package weight under 0.5kg. We will choose from DHL, TNT, or FEDEX, EMS, UPS whichever fits the best in your area. For a sample package weight might be over 0.5kg, please contact us before making payment.
