The Elspeth Gown features a boat neckline, floor-length open sleeves, delicate floral beaded details on the shoulders, a key hole open back (which she had closed). It retails for $5,075. She opted for Queen Maryβs Loverβs Knot Tiara, a firm favourite, which features 19 baroque pearls and rose-cut diamonds, set in heart-shaped knots. The tiara was made by Royal jeweller Garrard in 1914 to Queen Mary's personal design, from pearls and diamonds already in her family's possession. It was a copy of one owned by her grandmother, Princess Augusta of Hesse, who married the first Duke of Cambridge, seventh son of King George III, in 1818. The Princess wore Dianaβs diamond and pearl drop earrings once again this evening. Her four-strand pearl bracelet with a diamond clasp is from Queen Elizabeth II. The yellow badge is the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II, an honour bestowed on female members of the British royal family by Queen Elizabeth II. Elizabethβs colour is chartreuse yellow, while her father George VIβs was pink and her grandfather George Vβs was blue. She wore the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order star and blue sash. The Royal Victorian Order is an order of knighthood established in 1896 by Queen Victoria, recognising distinguished personal service to the British monarch.
