1971
System Error brings you the 9 month journey of the brutal yet glorified Liberation War of Bangladesh (1971) through 206 timeless and rare photographs. They say ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’, is most appropriate statement for the photographs that emerged from all over Bangladesh during its Liberation War of 1971. Total 30 lakh people were killed in just nine months in the world’s worst genocide, two lakh to four lakh women – young as 8 and old as 75 – were r***d, Hindu people were specially persecuted and intellectuals were murdered as the then Pakistan government let loose its army to crush the uprising of Bangalees demanding independence from Pakistan. While the Bangalees consider it their most glorious age in history, the sacrifice they had to make 45 years back remains matchless for the brutality they had to undergo. Since the photos are essential to understand the graveness of the atrocity and extent of sacrifice, some contents might not be too comforting to see.
