Marsha P. Johnson’s remarkable life-story, her gay & trans liberation and AIDS activism make her a defining figure in the LGBTQ+ rights movement of the 20th century. Marsha P. Johnson was a Black trans activist, community leader, and revolutionary voice who’s courage helped start the Stonewall uprising and fight for equality. Her advocacy for trans rights, and her lifelong commitment to protecting unhoused q***r youth continue to shape modern q***r activism and global LGBTQ justice movements.

At The Phluid Project, we’re proud to have collaborated with the Marsha P. Johnson Institute to support Black trans empowerment, community protection, and real systemic change. Through our work with Phluid and the Phluid Phoundation, we continue carrying Marsha’s legacy by uplifting q***r community care, gender-free fashion, inclusive design, and intersectional activism.
