⚠️ De Antwerp Pride parade krijgt een vernieuwde route doorheen Antwerpen, via de trendy Kloosterstraat. ⚠️

“Op zaterdag 13 augustus zal, na twee jaar afwezigheid, onze feestelijke Antwerp Pride parade opnieuw door de Antwerpse binnenstad trekken. De route krijgt dit jaar een upgrade en zal langs de trendy Kloosterstraat gaan, wegens wegenwerken op de parallelle kaaien” aldus Antwerp Pride voorzitter Bart Abeel.

De deelnemers van de parade verzamelen eerst op het Sint-Jansplein, om vervolgens onder politiebegeleiding, naar het startpunt op de Paardenmarkt te gaan. Vandaar gaat het via het Hessenplein naar de Oude Leeuwenrui en Brouwersvliet, en dan zuidwaarts over de kaaien.
Ter hoogte van de voetgangerstunnel verlaat de parade de kaaien, om dan via de Kloosterstraat, Riemstraat en Scheldestraat de tocht verder te zetten via de Cockerillkaai naar het eindpunt op de Gerlachkaai/Namenstraat. Op de Cockerillkaai start op dat moment het Antwerp Pride Love United festival.

“Deze upgrade van de route van de parade brengt de bezoekers ook dichter bij onze nieuwe extra festivalsite op de Sint-Andriesplaats, waar we een alternatief programma brengen met onder andere literaire en spoken word-optredens, muziek, cabaret en (jonge) q***r DJ’s.” aldus Bart Abeel.
