I’m not sure if it’s the cooler weather or the fact I’ve been watching the (spinning) vlogs of Tᴀɴɪᴀ and Little Brown Bird Co and Jente or maybe it’s even both these things, but I’ve been really, really inspired to spin again.
So I decided to have a bit of a fun experiment with trying to make my first 3ply yarn. I went through my stash and found a hand dyed Corriedale roving of a business that has now closed (so I can’t tag them) and some Jacobs by jule ↟ woollentwine which I both picked up ages ago. I’m not sure if this all will work out and whether or not my skein will even be looking nice, but this is why we try things and experiment. Maybe we fail, maybe we succeed. But at the end I’ll have learnt something while having fun.
The first bobbin is spun up and I started on the Jacobs already. Will switch back to the Corriedale for the 3rd single after the Jacobs is done. It’s more fun to go back and forth, in my opinion.
Might have to try and find a proper lazy kate now too, haha! 🤭
