Welcome to a screen recording of playing the 3D immersive video game “The Flower” on the VLGE platform, Helsinki Fashion Week’s strategic partner for the 10th anniversary celebration event.
From 22.-28. August 2024, visitors were invited to ‘find the portals to discover Atelier Mendrilla’s latest sculptural collection’.
With The Flower, Atelier Mendrilla applied its signature Yantra Couture method to AR. The Flower attempted to shape and influence the energy of the AR space so that the projection thus created may inspire a deeper connection to our original nature.
The Flower also explored if AR, as a layer of digital illusion upon our dreamlike lives, can be a tool, a door of perception, for deeper cognition.
Thus, Mandali Mendrilla’s The Flower art installation completed the previous art installations of her work on HFW namely: TIME and SPACE, into a triptych called: TIME, SPACE & THE FLOWER.
All materials in the collection are repurposed.
Embroidered items previously served as sacred altar garments in the Temple of Sri Sri Radha Gopinatha in Radhadesh, Belgium.
