Van vlaszaadje tot linnen servet op een vierkante meter in je eigen tuin!

Het Kortrijkse textielmuseum TextielMuseum Texture zet - na een succesvolle eerste editie - opnieuw in op de projecten linen stewards en 1m2 vlas. Linen stewards is een intensief traject voor (semi-)professionelen rond regeneratieve vlasteelt en duurzaam ontwerp. 1m2 vlas richt zich dan weer tot een breed publiek dat zelf thuis aan de slag wil met het kweken en verwerken van vlas op één vierkante meter.

Our work doesn’t stop at supporting the textile and plastics industry—we also help government authorities strengthen customs controls, enforce new measures like the parcel tax, and protect consumers through initiatives such as testing for Test-Aankoop.

Test Achats / Testaankoop sends out 🚨 Toy Safety Alert 🚨

Inge De Witte and Stijn Steuperaert would like to warn all parents, grandparents, sugar aunts and uncles, that our latest tests ordered by Testachats / Testaankoop reveal a shocking truth: 70% of cheap toys sold online fail to meet EU safety standards.

✅ What we tested: Plastic toys, plush animals, and wooden playsets

Main risks:
🧪 Chemical hazards: phthalates, heavy metals, PFAS, formaldehyde
⚙️ Mechanical hazards: choking on small parts, strangulation from cords, sharp edges

The EU Toy Safety Directive (2009/48/EC) sets strict rules, but many products from platforms like Temu, Shein, Wish, and Amazon don’t comply.

Tip: Always check for CE marking and choose quality over quantity. Safer toys mean safer kids. 💡
