For photographer Paris Mumpower, intention is everything. Whether she’s working on a personal project or a brand shoot, her approach is rooted in authenticity — a value passed down from her mentor at SCAD, who taught her to always align each frame with its purpose. “Every element should be there for a reason,” she says. “That’s what brings a story to life.”

When capturing the Indigo Linen capsule, Paris leaned into what felt timeless — both in the collection and behind the lens. “Nothing says timeless like film,” she says. “I used four different cameras that day — a mix of medium format and 35mm — to echo the textures and tones of the fabric.”

The result is a series that feels considered and quietly powerful. Rich indigo, soft linen, a fresh take on everyday style — all filtered through her signature perspective.

We spent the day with Paris as part of our ongoing series. Celebrating artists in their element, with a strong point of view and an eye for what matters.

“Privacy is such a subtle form of empowerment.”

For LA-based photographer , creating imagery that feels personal — almost secret — is part of the process. Her work often invites you into quiet, curated spaces that feel deeply intentional. “It’s about building a world where someone can be completely themselves,” she says. “That kind of comfort reads instantly in a photo.”

For the shoot, Paris leaned into that feeling of intimacy — light filtering through windows, quiet moments in motion, every detail feeling both styled and spontaneous.

But before the calm comes the chaos. “A good playlist is key,” she laughs. “Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake while we’re getting ready — then we’ll shift to something softer like Clairo once we’re in the zone. Music sets the tone for everything.”

We went behind her lens to see how she builds that energy — crafting images that feel both elevated and undone. Celebrating personal space as a luxury, and style as a form of self-possession.
