‘Summer assignment 2023’ 🌸✨🐆
-Part 2-

In this post you see the end result of a photoshoot in our photostudio in school and my sketch for the look.💓✨

This free assignment was about creating an outfit for ourselves, presented on the first school day. I started with the idea of an online trend showing how you see yourself through images; for me that meant leopard print, flowers, glitter, and lots of color!

From collage and sketches to sewing during summer break, I brought it to life. The result: a balloon dress with floral embroidery, styled with leopard tights, glasses without frames, leopard shoes and selfmade kneewarmers.🐆💐🌸💖

‘Something smells in here?!’👃✨🌸💐

This project was created for the course Visual Grammar.

The idea came from reflecting on myself and what defines me. I chose the theme of scent. People often say, “Wow, who smells so good?” or “Zaïna, you smell amazing!” Perfume is important to me because I always want to smell nice. I put on perfume often, and people notice and like it.

This inspired me to visualize scent. I used two of my favorite perfumes and translated their essence into feelings and colors. Then, I experimented with self-portraits, colors, flowers, and materials, creating images that capture the “vibe/smell” of each perfume. Finally, I combined these elements into two distinct portraits.

This piece is built from 3D shapes filled with pillow stuffing, with blood splatters cut from flex foil and embellished with hand-embroidered beads ✨🟡
The headpiece features a dramatic oversized blood splash, also with beadwork🩸🩸🩸
