Label Design: 5 Steps for Print-Ready Artwork

A strong label design is not just about looking good on screen. It also needs to print clearly, fit the product properly, and avoid costly mistakes during production.

Start by preparing the artwork in a print-ready file format and setting it in real size. Then make sure the colors, resolution, and margins are correct, so the design can be printed accurately without trimming issues. It is also important to leave bleed and safe space around the important parts of the label.

Next, convert all fonts to outlines and expand any graphics so nothing changes when the file is opened on another system. Finally, review the whole file carefully before sending it to print, because a small error at this stage can affect the final result.
