THE MOMENT IT BECAME REAL
I signed the lease today.

After months of searching, questioning, wondering if I was thinking too small or too big, choosing the wrong location or the right one - it's real now. The shop is mine.

Lia came with me to sign the papers. She didn't need to be there, but she showed up anyway. And as I stood in front of what will soon be Bianca's Boutique, something clicked into place. All the doubt I've been carrying - about whether my vision was big enough, whether staying in Ostuni was settling, whether
I should have picked the flashier location - it all just...quieted.

She has this way of grounding me. Of reminding me what I actually want versus what I thought I was supposed to want. Just by being there, believing in what I'm building, she made the fear smaller.

Matteo was waiting outside with his camera, of course. He took photos of me standing in the doorway of my future shop, and when I looked at them later, I didn't see a girl who was settling. I saw a girl who knew exactly what she wanted and had the courage to build it her way.

That's what having your people does. It doesn't make the fear disappear, but it makes you braver anyway.
The space is small. It's in a quiet part of town. It's not what everyone would have chosen for me. But it's exactly what I chose for myself. And that makes all the difference.

Opening day is coming. I'm ready.

THE JOY OF CHOOSING TOGETHER
I've been smiling nonstop since Lia and I made up.

It's like the world feels lighter. Colors are brighter. Even the hard things feel manageable because I don't have to carry them alone anymore.

We forgave each other - really forgave each other, not just moved past it- and something shifted. The guilt I've been holding loosened. The fear that I'd destroyed the best friendship I ever had finally released its grip.

Yesterday we spent the entire day going through pieces for the boutique. Lia has this way of seeing things - she'll hold up a bag and tell me exactly what story it's telling, what feeling it creates. With her beside me, the choices became clear. Not easier necessarily, but clearer. Like I finally had my people again, reminding me what matters.

I found this striped piece yesterday and the moment I saw it, I thought: this is it. This belongs in my world. And Lia said the exact same thing at the exact same moment. We looked at each other and just laughed - that's what it feels like to be truly known by someone.

Opening day is coming soon. I'm terrified. I'm excited. But mostly I'm grateful.

Because having her beside me reminds me that I don't have to do this alone. That the boutique I'm building isn't just about beautiful things - it's about building something with intention, with people who understand me, with the support of someone who believes in me even when I don't believe in myself.

That's what real partnership looks like. That's what real friendship does.

WE'RE BACK!
She invited me up to the terrace yesterday. I was nervous the entire walk over - what if the awkwardness from the pool lingered? What if one conversation wasn't enough to fix a year of silence?

The moment I saw her, I just started laughing. Then we were hugging, and everything we'd been holding in came tumbling out.

We said the things we should have said a year ago. I told her I was sorry for changing, for letting people convince me to become someone smaller to fit their vision. She told me she was sorry for being afraid instead of being supportive, for letting fear turn into cruelty.

And suddenly it felt like we'd never been apart.

Matteo was there too, this beautiful bridge between us, documenting everything with his camera like he always does. He looked at us sitting there on that terrace - different as always, like stripes next to solids - and said, "There you are. My dynamic duo. I knew you'd find your way back."

He was right. We're different in almost every way. She's structured where I'm fluid, practical where I'm dreamy, certain where I doubt. But that's exactly why we work. We balance each other. We make each other braver.
I've missed her so much. And now, finally, I can finish my song. Because my best friend is back by my side, and everything feels possible again.
