HOW IMPORTANT ARE GOOD SPORTS SHOES?
For most sports, special sports shoes have been developed to match the characteristics of the particular sport. For example, special shoes have also been developed for fitness. How important are the right sports shoes really?
SUPPORT & STABILITY
Do your sports shoes provide enough stability and support? This will prevent you from sliding your foot around in the shoes and your ankles from swelling. After tying the shoe, your heel should be well enclosed. No finger should fit between them on either side of the foot. The heel cap of the shoe should also be high enough so that it does not encompass the entire heel. While walking, your heel should not slide back and forth in the heel cap.
COMFORTABLE
Of course, your athletic shoes should be comfortable and provide adequate cushioning. This will prevent your knees from hurting. Most exercises not only put strain on your muscles, but also on your tendons and joints. Therefore, when choosing your sports shoes, make sure that they are comfortable and cushioned enough.
WHAT ABOUT YOUR SPORTS SHOES?
Are you wearing the right shoes? Or do you feel that your shoes are not suitable for your feet? You can easily check which type of shoe is best for your feet! If the inner side of your sole is the most worn then this means that your feet are pointing inwards when landing. This is called overpronation and causes an unnatural tension. It occurs in people with low cavities or flat feet. So when buying the right athletic shoes, look for shoes that can prevent this or corrective orthotics that help with this. If you see more wear on the outside of the sole we call this underpronation. The result is that your lower leg absorbs more shocks and with time this can cause problems. Make sure you have sports shoes with extra cushioning to prevent this.
