Today, we remember with love, the E in E. MabelSidney's, my mother Eureka.

The sound of the sewing machine to this day is one of my absolute favourite soothing sounds. From my conception to when I turned 28, that sound was a huuuuuge presence in my life. My grandmother, Mabel, and grandfather Sidney, sewed and my mother picked it up. Pregant with me, mummy worked sewing police uniforms and three of my godmothers were her closest coworkers.

I never learned to sew while my mummy or my mama were here. I took for granted that when I was ready, at least one of them would be here. I also for some reason couldn't make sense of some of the things when I did try. One day after my mummy left us, I sat down to the machine and shocked myself (and one of my godmothers). I've been sewing ever since! No confusion, no misunderstandings, it all makes sense!

Combined my sewing and Cricut skills to make two very cute little ones happy!!

In 2020, I sewed a new cover for my girls' bean bag cushion, but, didn't make it removable. Of course, being dragged round the house takes it toll.

I re-covered it today, this time putting in zips.
