As we begin welcoming athletics teams from across the globe for this historic weekend — the first-ever World Athletics Relays hosted on African soil — I had the pleasure of attending a reception in honour of both the U.S. and Botswana teams. The atmosphere? Electric. Filled with joyful competition, excitement, and a sense of celebration that already feels like victory. 💃🏽

To echo the sentiments of Hon. Oarabile Motlaleng (Mayor of Gaborone), “we warmly welcome all teams”… but make no mistake, Botswana is here to take the win. 🤭

What a jubilant moment for our nation. And as someone who doesn’t play sports (not for lack of trying), I’m genuinely inspired by the level of discipline, focus, and excellence our Batswana athletes continue to embody. 💫

Thank you for having me U.S. Embassy Gaborone, Botswana

Last week, at an intimate U.S. Embassy Gaborone, Botswana Alumni lecture, we engaged in a meaningful discussion on Building Resilient Communities.

We unpacked what proven models of civic engagement look like in practice, and how young people and small businesses can collaborate intentionally to cultivate communities that are not only sustainable, but truly thriving.

As a multidisciplinary creative, I find myself uniquely positioned to contribute to conversations around the governance structures that can, and should, support a flourishing creative industry in my country. These systems matter. They determine whether talent survives or scales.

If we don’t like how something is structured, then we have both the agency and the responsibility to shape it differently. Real change requires participation.

Decisive.bw to the world. 🌎 🦋

Four years ago today, I submitted a video application to be part of what would become Africa’s first Fashion Reality competition called Battle of The Ankara.

What that young woman didn’t know was, she would not only make it onto the show, she would place Top 3 among 10 up-and coming designers from across the African continent. 🌍 💫

That experience stretched me. It challenged my discipline, sharpened my instincts, and forced me to articulate my creative voice with a clarity and boldness I didn’t even know I possessed. That time, I already considered myself bold. 🤭

It marked a turning point in my career. It affirmed me as an innovative designer and expanded my belief in what was possible. Since then, I’ve continued to grow, evolve, and step into rooms I once only imagined.

God has been good. ♥️

I’m grateful for the journey, for the becoming, and for the woman I am still growing into.

Reach for the stars! 🦋

Thank you Pantheon Pictures for always assiting me with videography and photography needs!

Last night I was on proud aunty duty with a couple of my niblings as we attended the opening reception of what will now be a monthly artist highlight exhibition series.

The series kicked off with Botswana’s own Mosako Chalashika. A skateboarder turned photographer and cinematographer, Chalashika documents lived experience within the skate community. He captures it's culture, movement, and sense of belonging with real authenticity.

He’s locally affiliated with Knuckle Heads, and continentally connected with WAF in West Africa , both impactful skateboarding communities shaping culture beyond just sport. It genuinely brings me joy to experience local creative work, especially when it’s led by pioneers carving their own lanes.

The CEO of the National Arts Council of Botswana, Gaokgakala Daniel Lemmenyane, shared that from 1 March 2026 a national data-capturing initiative will roll out to build a comprehensive directory of practicing creatives across Botswana. The intention is to use those insights to thoughtfully shape a National Creative Arts Fund that directly responds to the real needs of our industry. A step toward more structured and informed support for the arts.

The exhibition is open until Tuesday, 10 March 2026 Alliance Française de Gaborone.

Can you tell we had a good time? 🤭

Being a multidisciplinary artist fills my career cup. It allows me to express my creativity across different art forms, all of which still stem from my professional foundation as a Fashion Designer.

Stepping into the role of wardrobe stylist and costume designer for locally produced films has been a noteworthy part of my growth. It isn’t always glamorous, but the work we create is something I am consistently proud of.

As an adult, I’ve found myself falling in love with my country, Botswana, and its stories. Being part of telling those stories has been magical. The child in me is healing in real time as I learn to see the beauty of my land, a place I once felt rejected by because I didn’t fit the mould. I have always been different.

Now, I’m learning that my perspective, although different, belongs.

I’m looking forward to international opportunities too. Let’s work.

Here are some BTS from Khumo Ya Dinaledi which aired on Mzansi Magic in 2024. Thank you DStv, New LOOK Studios LIVE and Freeze Frame Pictures for the opportunity.

We’re gearing up for another one this weekend, and I have to admit, it’s my favourite of the two! ✨

Alongside leading the Wardrobe Styling department, I also had the opportunity to curate selected costumes. Can you spot which garments are by Decisive.bw?

Grateful and excited for what’s ahead. 🤭 Airing this Saturday at 7pm, DStv Mzansi Magic (channel 161).
