Story time.

I’m not going to lie. I’ve been struggling, mentally the past month or so… and I finally picked up a couple of my oracle decks the other morning and flipped a few cards that of course I found meaning and peace with. Which was great, made me feel at peace and that I’ll make it through.

The next day I had some running around to do and what not, dr appt, lunch, groceries etc. after I got home I went to use the washroom, while washing my hand I could see something in the back of my hair, I grabbed this little guy out. GOD ONLY KNOWS how long I was walking around with a feather in my hair!! However, I went immediately to my book of “natures hidden charms” knowing feathers is a sign/charm.

“Feathers represent the power of mind & thought, freedom and spirit” they can also be celestial messengers, from loved ones and angels.

Anyways, here we are. Feeling better everyday, walking around with feathers and truly believing the universe knows exactly where you need to be.

Whether you’re a believer in this “stuff” or not, I think it’s kind of a fun story.

Alone is such a weird feeling to feel when you’re surrounded by loved ones day in day out, you work in a public sector & socialize on a day to day basis.

But I find motherhood can introduce you to feelings that kind of contradict each other.

Ex) wanting to stop time, but sp*ed up to the next “stage”.
Feeling so alone, but literally you don’t even p*e or p**p alone anymore.
Wanting your old life back, but never wanting to live without what you currently have ever again.

Whatever stage you’re in, know you’re likely not the only one who’s felt it and/or is going through it!!

There’s so much talk about how hard motherhood is physically — the sleepless nights, the schedules, the meals, the laundry, the never-ending mental load.

But sometimes I think the heaviest part is realizing you’re helping shape an entire HUMAN.

Like… excuse me??? That’s a lot of responsibility. 😂

I want my kids to grow up kind, caring and hardworking — but I never want them to feel like their worth comes from what they accomplish.

I want them to be confident without feeling like they have to be perfect.

I want them to KNOW they’re loved. KNOW they’re important. KNOW they’re smart and capable and worthy of taking up space in this world.

And somehow, amongst regular Tuesday mornings and bedtime routines and snacks and tantrums, I’m supposed to create a childhood they’ll one day look back on.

I know I’m going to get things wrong.

But I hope when they’re grown, the thing they remember most isn’t whether Mom did everything perfectly.

I hope they remember that home always felt like love. 🤎

I don’t think I understood how much motherhood would change me.

Yes, I’m raising a little human.

But I’m also learning how to be a better human myself.

Motherhood has taught me patience, grace, softness and perspective.

It’s brought out a more innocent way of looking at the world.

And in so many ways, it’s healed my inner child.

There are moments where I watch Memphis experience something so simple for the first time and I catch myself seeing it differently too.

Maybe that’s one of the greatest gifts of motherhood.

You get to watch them grow…

while quietly growing alongside them. 🤍
