Well, all good things must come to an end! We are packed up and ready to leave Tenerife today. We had a wonderful last day yesterday finding two more coastal villages on our long walk. We came across a fishing village where the locals were very proud of their catch and the local fish monger women were very busy cleaning the morning catches. We ended our walk along inspired to definitely return to “Our Happy Place” , The Canary Islands!

Good bye Lanzarote, hello Tenerife!
For the next 5 nights we are exploring Tenerife. From its rugged coastline, here in the south we are enjoying the lengthy promenade where we have seen two golf courses, wonderful vacation villas and very friendly tourists and Tenerife inhabitants. Many people from northern Spain move here to the south for Tenerife’s year round warm temperatures. With my darling, we enjoyed a reward lunch !
Tomorrow we have a full day private tour to see the rest of the island. We flew in to the north airport and fly to Lisbon on Wednesday from their south airport! Amazing amazing vacation! We are so fortunate being Canadian, and proud to introduce ourselves to everyone we meet, “we are from Canada!”🇨🇦

Our morning began rather ominous with the threat of rain all around us. It’s still 19 degrees and we carried on with making friends along our way. Beautiful flowers grow from nothing…. Our reward at the end of a lovely morning!
Crepes and coffee! What a great life sharing with my best friend!
Tomorrow, our full day private tour of the Timanfaya National park, the wine region of Geria as well we will visit the southern beach region and finally the north of Lanzarote!

We have now arrived in Lanzarote our second Canary Island on our wonderful adventure!
What a different landscape with its volcanic character and very dry climate. Beautiful cactus line gardens filled with volcanic rock everywhere. White houses and apartments adorn this very unique beautiful island! Today we walked over 7 km from Costa Teguise where we are staying, to Arreclife. We walked all along the Atlantic coastline on a very lovely trail where bicycles and people share their way. It was lovely and warm…..another “Happy Place” for sure!

We have found our “Happy Place”!
It’s in Las Palmas, Gran Canary where we have found beautiful sunsets, great scenery, wonderful promenades to explore day and night!
