We were so lucky to have such an amazing grandmother. Maxine was a pillar of our community, full of personality, and always the social butterfly. She paved the road for women in business in our community, and was such a powerful role model. Her legacy will continue to live on in all of us.

Grandma, you will be missed. Thank you for inspiring generations of strong, independent women 💜

Hi strangers! I know it has been a long time since I last posted (and don't worry, I will share wedding photos for those who have been asking) but today I want to share a fundraising campaign we have launched at my work. Some of you may know that when I wasn't chatting with you lovely folks at the store, I was (and still am) working full time with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kawartha Lakes - Haliburton -- an organization that provides amazing mentoring experiences for youth.
I also am a volunteer in-school mentor, as I am huge believer in the impact of mentoring. I am hoping that you will take a moment and check out our fundraising campaign, and share it with your network:

Wow. We have been absolutely blown away from the support of our amazing community through our closure process. A massive thank you to the Beaverton Lions Club for the heartfelt send off BBQ last Saturday. As of today, our business is officially closed. This was never an easy decision to make, however, our family knows it was the right one. While it is always sad to see a chapter close, it was time for us to move forward. I will miss chatting with each and every one of our lovely customers, whom many have turned into family friends. I have been very lucky to have been raised through this business, alongside my late mother. Jeanette taught me not only how to run a small business, but how to do it with passion and determination. She taught me the importance of supporting our community, how to be a strong female leader, and to always follow my dreams. Seeing this chapter close is bittersweet, but we certainly look forward to what is next for our family.
