The past few weeks have been incredibly hard, and truthfully, I’m still navigating a lot of grief while trying to find my footing again.

My dad was always one of our biggest supporters, and I know he would want me to keep going… so slowly, that’s what I’m trying to do.

Thank you for all of the patience, encouragement, messages, and kindness you’ve shown our family. It has meant more than you know during this season.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been organizing our swim collection, and I’ve been wanting to show you this for a really long time. Right now, it feels nice to have something bright to focus on and finally start sharing the neon swim we’ve been working on for years.

Back in March, I shared that my dad had been diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and that our family was walking through a really difficult season while trying to keep life and business afloat at the same time.

What I never expected was how quickly everything would change.

Last week was the hardest week of my life as we suddenly lost him.

Everything happened so fast. One moment we were holding onto hope, making plans, and believing we had more time… and the next, our world was completely turned upside down.

Truthfully, I still feel like I’m waiting to wake up from this nightmare that I’m drowning in.

The grief, shock, and disbelief have been so overwhelming.

At the same time, life has to keeps moving… including this business that supports our family. My dad was incredibly proud of what we’ve built with Little Buck, and I know he would want us to keep going.

Behind the scenes, we’ve spent the past year working on new things for 2026, and while this all has understandably slowed us down, we’re doing our best to keep moving forward while navigating this new reality. I just ask for a little extra grace and patience during this time.

Maplefest is happening this Saturday downtown Bowmanville, and Shane will be there with his parents holding down the fort for us.

To anyone who has experienced the loss of a parent or someone they deeply love, I’m so so sorry. It’s a club I never wanted to be part of.

This is the other face behind Little Buck.

A small town boy from Newfoundland who grew up loving the outdoors, working hard, and his family above all.

Who became a husband and a dad of two.
Who believed in his wife’s dream and helped turn it into something that became theirs together.

This business, much like the NICU, naturally puts a lot of focus on the mama and babies…

But there is someone else there too.

The steady presence.
The one holding everything together behind the scenes.
The one who shows up, stays strong, and carries more than anyone sees.

This is him.

He supported a big crazy dream, and helped turn it into something real with his own hard work, ideas, and belief.

Turns out the little boy in these photos had no idea what he would help build one day.

And truthfully, Little Buck wouldn’t exist without him. ❤️

This is who’s behind Little Buck.

Not a big company.
Not a boardroom of executives.

Just a little girl from a small town with big dreams.
Who grew up to become a wife and a mother of two.
Who started building a business after one of the hardest chapters of her life in the NICU.

Turns out the little girl in these photos had no idea what she was capable of yet. And truthfully, she still needs reminders sometimes to keep going.

So thank you to our incredible community, near & far, from coast to coast. To family, friends, and the many amazing people who have become part of this journey along the way. Your encouragement, support, and belief have been the greatest motivation.

Little Buck was built with heart & intention and none of it would exist without all of you. ❤️

Over the past couple of months things have been a little quieter here at Little Buck.

To be honest, we have been going through something heavy in our personal lives while trying to keep all the pieces moving at the same time. Somebody close to me recently said I should share my story, that our community would understand and it may even help somebody else. The more I thought about it, the more I realized they were probably right.

My dad was recently diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and the past couple months have been spent mostly at the hospital and then as his caregiver while he’s an outpatient. It has been a season of long days, late nights, and doing our best to balance family, kids, school, sports, and running our business in between.

Through it all, we have continued working behind the scenes on what is ahead for Little Buck. Some days have looked a little different than usual, but we are still here and still moving forward.

In a way it feels very full circle. This community was created after one of the hardest seasons of our lives when our baby spent time in the NICU. And now here we are again leaning on that same strength while my dad walks through his own battle.

I know many of you have experienced something similar or may be going through it right now with someone you love. If you are, I see you and our hearts are with you.

While things have been quiet on our socials, there has also been a lot happening for LB. Our 2026 collections are in the works and something we have been dreaming up and creating for a couple years is finally coming to life... 💦😉

NICU HOLIDAY BOXES 🎁✨

Some families will spend Christmas in the NICU this year.
Not at home.
Not around the tree.
Just hoping. Just waiting. Just loving their little fighter.

Nine years ago, our journey began in the NICU with our own son, the inspiration behind this all, who is now in Grade 4 and growing faster than we can keep up with.

Every year, we organize gift boxes to deliver to our local NICU families on Christmas Day. A little something to bring a tiny bit of a joy at what can be such a difficult time.

It’s been a hard couple years for small business lately but we truly appreciate every consideration for donating your beautiful contributions to the box.

From us, and our little 3lb muse who inspired this business…Let’s go Jays. 🧢⚾️

I remember this moment so vividly… this tiny baby on my chest, wires and monitors everywhere, and a world that felt completely stopped. Almost a decade ago, in the NICU, wishing for the day we could finally bring him home.

The 2016 Jays and October baseball brought small moments of comfort and distraction in a really hard time.

As the Jays play again this week, I can’t help but think of all the families still in those hospital rooms… watching the games, finding those same little glimmers of comfort and hope.

If that’s you right now, I see you. I remember that feeling. You’re doing an incredible job, even when it feels like the world is spinning without you. 💙
