It's My Thing Designs

It's My Thing Designs Bio: Designer of jewellery & other fun stuff AND international woman of mystery. LOL All items are assembled, designed, hand painted, crocheted, by me.

Nothing is mass produced and most jewelry is either one of a kind or I have only made a few of the items. Your treasures are produced in a smoke free environment. You can find me at my Deep Bay studio or on Etsy. www.etsy.com/ca/shop/itsmythingdesigns

Back from a fun vacation to Waterton National Park in southern Alberta.
The highlight of the trip was encountering a young grizzly as we were driving back from Cameron Lake.
We pulled over to give it space but then it walked toward us and passed by the driver’s side of our car. So cool and, yes, we stayed inside with the windows up.
My hubby has been going to the park for fifty years and has never seen a grizzly.

Drum roll… 🥁
This is my line up of artisan markets that I will be attending this year, so far.
I will only be attending two markets this summer so it leaves my schedule open in case our Oceanside Emergency Support Services team is activated. Wildfire season has already started on Vancouver Island. 😳
My studio will be closed until May 25th. I will post my studio hours for the remainder of May in a few weeks.

Ah, the joys of spring cleaning, decluttering, reorganizing, and getting the patio ready for another season of chillaxing.
I even managed to come up with a crochet design for a new item. Deluxe bath poufs. I will be bringing them to future artisan markets.

My first craft show of the year is coming up next weekend.
Sunday, March 29th, 10 am to 3 pm.
See poster and map below for more info.
I will be bringing all of my newly designed collection of crocheted items, as well as my ever popular slippers, and several new earrings.
Crocheted items: towel ring holders for oven fridge handles, dish cloths, sponge scrubbies, ‘scratchy’ scrubbies, face scrubby sets, soap sacks, teapot cozies, ‘mouse’ cat ball toys, ‘octopus’ cat ball toys, slippers, hand warmers, maybe my last 2 large lap blankets.

My Deep Bay studio is officially open now. I will only be posting my schedule a week at a time, on Facebook, and those times will also be noted on my gate sign at the top of my driveway.

This week (March):
Monday 23rd - closed
Tuesday 24th - 11 am to 4:30 pm
Wednesday 25th - 11 am to 4:30 pm
Thursday 26th - 11 am to 4:30 pm
Friday 27th - 11 am to 4:30 pm
Saturday 28th - by appointment only 11 am to 3 pm
Sunday 29th - closed
~
On another note:
A few weeks ago someone stole my sign at the bottom of the Gainsberg Road hill. I had permission from the wonderful people at the VIU Marine Station to share their sign post but someone in the community took it upon themselves to be the sign police. I was planning on replacing it with the ‘arrow’ sign, shown below, but thought it best to instal it on my fence instead.
This has been an ongoing issue for artisans in the Bowser / Deep Bay area for a number of years. We really thought the shenanigans were over and done with but apparently not. 🤦‍♀️

I’m back! 😱 😂
I can’t believe it’s already March!
Have I been busy the last three months? Why, yes I have.
Two class room courses, a three week JIBC on-line course, volunteering, a lot of crocheting, a revamp to my studio set up, reorganizing my supplies, and prep for a de-stash market which just happens to be tomorrow.
Maybe I’ll see you at the Bradley Centre.
