Dance parents, where are you on the dance season journey?

The dance season isn’t only about the dancer. Dance parents are so involved with everything to do with what’s going on. It’s May which means some of you are in the middle of comp, some may be at the end of comp, recitals are coming up and we can’t forget about nationals.

Let us take you through a guided journey through the dance season based on what items you might be needing. Let us know what stage you are at.

POV You’ve got every dance photo possible on your phone.

We know you can’t just take one pic of your super cute dancer in their full costume, hair and makeup at comp. And we love seeing them (especially if it’s a MOD costume!).

But studios sometimes change what they want from one season to the next, so we would still recommend that you bring in your comp checklist to the boutique when shopping to be sure you are getting the right colours and styles when you stock up for this year’s routines.

Family is truly our story! We are a mother daughter owned business, but a lot of our family has provided their time, energy, expertise and more in helping grow and even pivot our business over the years. And we are truly grateful for everyone who’s been involved.

New comp parents, we know you are following the studios list but we won’t steer you wrong. In some cases you definitely want to be sure you are getting the right colour and brand of tight, but a convertible tight can be swapped for a footed tight without any problems (it actually allows for more versatility!).

Lesson for any dance parents heading to comp this season… Don’t wait til last minute to get your comp gear! It’s hard to have everything in stock at all times, especially if teachers have changed their minds on what they want for stage. Sometimes we need to order from the brand and there is a chance they might not have it in stock right away.

A custom costume is anything that is unique to you. We made custom costumes for 12 years and I can tell you that even the same base leotard can look totally different with the right decoration.

We have a bunch of one-of-a-kind ready made costumes in different styles, sizes and for different types of dance online & in-store for you to shop for this season’s solos or duets. Oh and they are a crazy good price too!

Plus we have a lot of base leotards that are the perfect starting point to add some appliques and transform into your own design.
