Tomorrow will make it one week since I got baptized on June 7th.
As I look back now, I remember how I felt on my way to church that evening. I was nervous, scared, excited, and honestly wondering if I was really ready for such a big step. I kept thinking about what it would mean to truly walk with God, stay in His Word, and continue living for Him every day.
What makes it even more special to me is how everything happened.
A few days before that Sunday, I received the email from church about baptism. I had already attended the classes and really wanted to do it, but I was worried because I had to work that day. Since joining in 2024, every baptism service I had seen was held during the morning service. So when I saw that this one was happening in the evening, after my shift, I couldn’t help but feel like God had made a way for me to be there.
It felt personal.
Like He was saying, “You need to be here.”
Since then, I’ve been quiet, not because anything is wrong, but because I’ve been soaking it all in. I’m grateful for how God has been working in my life. Some of the things I’ve prayed about for months, even close to a year, have started falling into place. Every answered prayer has reminded me that God sees, hears, and knows.
But one week later, I’m grateful for the decision I made and excited for the journey ahead.

P.S. I recently looked at my birth certificate and discovered that my Christian name is actually Elizabeth. All these years I’ve lived as Christiana, while my birth certificate says YETUNDE ELIZABETH AKINRO. So maybe it’s finally time to start answering to Elizabeth too. 😊
