Hello to all Wish Closet's followers!

Thank You for your donations!!! These items stay right here in our community, helping those who need a hand making ends meet. Single income families, single parents, those on Social Assistance, Persons with disabilities, teen moms, seniors, students, abuse survivors, and anyone in need access The Wish Closet, thanks to your ongoing generosity.

The Wish Closet is open for recipients at the scheduled times below. If you wish to donate, you can drop off your gently used clothing and household items anytime Major Balachey School is open. Please try to schedule your drop-offs at least 15mins (before or after) students begin or end classes. This helps keep their students from being disrupted. Ty.

You can share this page with friends, co-workers, neighbours (or anyone on your Facebook list) and help the spirit of community giving right here in Brantford.

Want to help?
* Ask friends to do a closet purge and have one person do a collection/drop off
* Go through your kitchen cupboards & drawers for duplicates, or items not used in over a year, and consider them for donation
* Encourage your children to donate good condition toys they dont play with anymore (Santa is only 2 months away)!
* Spend an afternoon going through your basement, garage, storage locker, etc
* Ask your company's social committee to make a small cash donation to help purchase items to run the program
* Share this page!! Please use the "public" setting so that your friends can also share to their page, etc

Donations are accepted Mon-Fri 9:30 am-2 pm, at Major Ballachey School. Only accept items that are suitable to be re-used * clothing is clean, items are not broken or in need of repair.

For large donations (more than a couple of bags) call ahead to arrange a drop-off time

Thank you again!!!

Excited that the Wish Closet is ready for a new year of helping the community by helping each other.

Once the school year begins, bring down:

- new and gently used clothing, all sizes
(esp. last year's outerwear for fall & winter!)
- kitchen/ household items
- toys & books in excellent condition
- unopened health & beauty products
- small new gift items (children & teens)
- curtains & bedding, in excellent condition

Please make sure donations are ready to use: this means freshly laundered, no missing buttons or broken zippers, etc. Donating isn't about giving away trash, spend an extra day or two making sure items are being donated in the condition you would like friends or family to receive them. Someone may not have the means or the skill to fix broken items, and receiving a fresh cleaned shirt makes someone feel cared for.

So encourage your entire family to each put a few things in a box and head down to Major Ballachy school 2nd week of September with your donations!! If you are in need of assistance, please come down to the Wish Closet during hours listed and we'll do our best to help ;)

Please share this page far and wide!!

The is not only for people to find what they need, but also a wonderful place to donate gently used items or even the odd new item you don't need.

Many folks who come to the Wish Closet are simply trying to make ends meet, starting over, new to our amazing community, or just need a helping hand to get through a rough patch. Volunteers are kind and treat everyone with dignity and respect.

They accept gently used clothing, household items, baby clothes and necessities, small appliances, quality toys, etc. Please be kind when donating: make sure items are in good condition and ready for their new home.

Another great program is the where they accept fashionable formal wear year round for those who couldn't otherwise afford something special. Please consider donating your past prom dress, bridesmaid dress, party dress, youth/men's suits, dress shoes and accessories, so these teens can enjoy their prom night with their friends.

Help your community while you declutter!
Check the hours for times when donations are accepted, and when the is open to the public.
