Sad to say goodbye to the ocean 🌊 but feeling refreshed and ready to take on your custom orders. I’m also going to be doing some re-pricing in the coming weeks as shipping, exchange rates and all the other things are really starting to mount. So be sure to snag anything you might have been eyeing before Jan 15th which is just the arbitrary date I decided to officially adjust my pricing. 🤷‍♀️

There’s a bunch of new faces around here so I thought I’d take the opportunity to say thanks for following along and let you know a few fun facts about HKQC. ⁣

1st up Hey kiddo was a passion project I began with my 8th graders back in 2018. In 12 weeks of “genius hour” I went from turning on a sewing machine for the first time to completing my first quilt. ⁣
⁣
2. About 80% of my quilts are made using custom printed fabric. The surface pattern designers earn a commission each time I purchase and print their artwork. It also means you’re supporting me and the artists when you make a purchase. ⁣
⁣
3. I don’t actually know how many quilts I’ve made, but I estimate it’s somewhere around 300-325. ⁣
⁣
4. My husband is a chartered accountant. I don’t know how many quilts I’ve made, how much I have spent on fabric or what my profit margin is. You can imagine how thrilled he is about my bookkeeping skills. 🤣⁣

5. I have never sewn something for myself. ⁣
⁣

That’s a wrap on TMMS Christmas edition! Thank you so so much to everyone who stopped by to check out my work, sent well wishes, shared my page and/or shopped the show; it means so much. I’ll be taking Sunday to unpack and relax, but Monday I will update my remaining stock on Etsy including a few remaining geese.
